The Mooka Air Purifier is a compact air filter which uses a 20 CFM air sanitation filter. The regular model air filters do not usually help remove harmful toxins in the air; with this type of filter installed you will have a much cleaner smelling home. It can help eliminate allergens and odors from pets, smoking, and cooking.
The purifier comes with advanced true HEPA technology. The HEPA filter has three different stages of filtration that has been proven to remove up to 99.97% of harmful particles in the air of up to 0.3 microns. This includes pollen, ragweed, and many other allergens such as mold, dust mites, and cigarette smoke. It’s effortless to use, and you can transport it almost anywhere. This makes the use of a one-button operation to turn it on/off and control the speed of the fan. It’s an elegant and very compact design which means you can place it almost anywhere worrying about it complementing your decor.
For operation, it will circulate and help freshen the area. Bad air usually gets sucked into the bottom of the Mooka; it is then filtered through a multilayer filter, and lastly is ejected out of the air purifier from the top. Thus, fresher air. While in operation, the Mooka will have a whisper-quiet operation; it operates with a noise lower than 60 dB, which will help you rest more at night or not disturb you in your work environment. It’s also affordable to run and a perfect fit for a quiet area.
We love how quiet this purifier works. It’s not often that you will run into a device which follows through with being quiet during operation. We’d have to say that this is one of it’s best features. On the other hand, the design of the Mooka is excellent. It’s easy to use, no complicated methods for cleaning, and it’s very portable. This makes it easier for you to transport it from room to room without hassle.
This Purifier comes with built-in LED lights. The downside to this is that we don’t like that the light is bright and you can’t turn it off while the machine is in use. That means if you're used to sleeping in complete darkness, then you’re going to be bothered by the Mooka Purifier.
The Levoit air purifier is designed to use a true HEPA filter which helps filter bacteria from the air. This is very important because other filters may only clean certain particles from the air but leaves the harmful bacteria to cycle through your house. This filter eliminates smoke, mold, dust, pet dander, and any other homey smells. It should be noted that you should replace the filter every 6 months.
This product is best for the earlier times of the year or allergy season. It can help dispose of common allergy debris which can include pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold, as well as other pollutants. There are three separate stages for the true HEPA filter and activated carbon filter combo. It can remove around 99.97% of all the particles that enter through the filter as long as they are 0.3 microns and larger.
The product does not use UV or ions, which are usually dangerous to let into the air. There are three speed settings you can adjust. There is high, medium, and low. If you’re worried about getting a good night's rest while leaving it on you won’t have to worry as it quietly operates all night long. It also has installed a gentle night light with two different brightness settings. It has a nice contemporary design, ensuring that it will blend into any room's decor. It can also easily fit into rooms, workspaces, and places with limited space.
Many people want to breathe fresh air, and if you have children, you want the same for them. This unit has a built-in gentle light which you can change up if one is too bright. This is perfect for younger children. It also is operation quiet, which comes in handy when you need to put it in a place where you need it to not make any noise. Lastly, we love that it has an added activated carbon filter, as this can help remove more pollutants and debris from the air.
You can change the settings from high, medium, to low. The issues are that we don’t like the fact that this device gets louder at higher settings, which kind of defeats the purpose in the first place. It’s understandable that you should have it on the lowest setting when sleeping, but it would have been nice to see one where you can use the higher settings in relative quiet.
The Oregon air purifier has been upgraded to use a true HEPA filter. This type of filter is better than other filters that may not pick up all the contaminants and allergens in the air. With the HEPA filter, you will no longer need to worry about this. It’s designed to be small, convenient, and easy to use. They have tried to beat the competition by adding in an extra and unique design. It includes a four-sided filtration system which will suck in air from all four sides. This ensures that you have faster, more frequent air circulation with rates of over 120 CFM.
The Oregon purifier uses a 3-in-1 true HEPA air filtration system that includes the use of a UVC sanitizer. The HEPA filter will help remove dirt, pollen, pet, dander, smoke, mold, and household odors. It can eliminate up to 99.97% of all of these particles from 0.3 microns. The UVC light helps destroy microorganisms such as germs, fungi, bacteria, and other airborne pollen and debris.
There are three separate speed levels that you can choose from: high, medium, and low. The air filter is quieter than 32 dB, and this feature is the same for all their models. The low setting enables the purifier to be set at different settings while you sleep. For an extra added feature, they have added a 2-, 4-, or 8-hour auto shutoff to help save energy and cut back on constant usage.
The purifiers from this brand are Energy Star rated, which can help save up to 30% on electricity. It also is ETL certified and complies with FCC rules for guarantees. We are confident that this product created by the Oregon Scientific company maintains strict controls when it comes to the quality of their air filters.
We love that this product has a unique filtration system that can help the air circulation process. Instead of sitting there and having the air pushed in and out of the same area, the product accepts air and pushes it back out through all sides of the device. The auto shutoff feature is useful as it helps save energy when you do not need to have it in use.
What we don’t like about this filter is that it’s almost impossible to find a replacement filter. The manufacturer has recently announced that replacement filters will soon be available on Amazon.com.
The GermGuardian air purifier has been designed to be used in either small- or medium-sized rooms. It has a CADR of over 100, and comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty. To make it easier for the average person to keep track of when they need to change the filter they have included a filter change indicator which will help tell you when the machine is in need of a filter change. The Select UVC on or off buttons are easy to use, and the UV bulb also has a replacement indicator.
The GermGuardian is a 3-in-1 purification system which uses true HEPA filter technology. It’s a perfect match for anyone who needs cleaner home air because of problems with allergies, illnesses or odors. With the use of the true HEPA filter, you can expect your purifier to trap up to 99.97% of all particulates that you don’t want hanging around in the air. More than that, there is a UV-C light which will help destroy and kill any germs that get caught in the filter. There is also a charcoal filter which can help eliminate any odors from smoking, cooking, or pets.
The CADR is rated at 100%, and its height is 22 inches tall. It is a very lightweight and easy-to-use unit for both small- and medium-sized rooms. There is included UV-C control and a filter change indicator which can tell you if the filter needs replacing. You can choose from 3 separate speeds: high, medium, low. The low setting is the speed that runs ultra-quiet, ensuring that you won’t be woken up or bothered while it’s in use while you sleep.
We love that this device can eliminate odors from homes. It’s not only easy to operate, but it accurately does its job. Many purifiers make claims saying that they will get rid of such bacteria and particles; however, they do not. This device uses a multiple filtration system to make sure that your home is smelling the best. Stripping down odors, germs, and bacteria.
While most people have had good experiences with this product, some individuals found that it was not satisfactory. Some models of the air purifier are said to overheat if left on for an extended period and can start to melt the outside plastic surrounding it. This can be dangerous. If your unit happens to start emitting a weird smell or starts to become hot, contact their support staff as soon as possible.
The Pure Enrichment company wanted to improve their filtration systems to give you better air quality in your home or office. It uses a UV-C light which can help destroy microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria, and mold. It has a whisper-quiet operation which functions at 30 dB. The PureZone also will sanitize the air for easier sleep and breathing. It has an automatic timer that can shut off at after 2, 4, or 8 hours of use, which can help save you money on electricity.
We love how this filter works, and almost all of the features worked exactly how we expected. It works well as a filtration system and can help keep the air in small areas clear and clean. It works very fast, so you won’t have to sit around and wait for the device to start working. You can move it from room to room if you’d like. And lastly, we love that the quiet technology is actually quiet.
The only downside we could find to this unit is that it seems to dry the air when it’s in use. This could be bad if you live in a place that is normally not very humid. Dry air can irritate sinus problems, so make sure to get a mister of some kind to help produce moisture back into the air.
Here is a quick buyer’s guide which can help you choose the perfect air purifier for you and your home.
Here are a few of the most common air purifiers.
These ones are extremely small and convenient to move, they do not cover a large space though.
These usually need to be installed by a professional and you will find that they are very expensive. They are capable of filtering all the air in your house.
Work for a single room and they work on destroying impurities that cling to surfaces.
Most air filters will usually cover the extent of one room. Depending on the size of the filter it can cover small, medium, or large rooms. You will need to check the product to get a better idea of how much space it can cover.
This type of filter stands for the words High-Efficiency Particulate Air, and it’s a technology that has been common amongst purifiers. They trap at least 99.97% of particles which are larger than 0.3 microns, which means that they are very effective at trapping harmful particles in the air. For a certified HEPA filter, make sure it is a True HEPA filter, otherwise you won't be filtering 99.97% of the particles. You will see HEPA-type filters, but they lack the extreme filtering capacity of a true HEPA filter
Activated Carbon Technology
This filter type is formed of carbon that is very porous and gives it a very large area for absorption. These were typically found in older models of filters when technology was just starting to become more common in every household. It’s a very effective tool which has high absorbance and can help trap chemical smells and odors.
This technology is used with other filtration systems. It doesn't get rid of airborne particles, but rather it gets rid of germs and bacteria. While the filter removes particles from the air, UV technology is responsible for destroying the organisms with UV rays. This way you can rest assured that the bacteria in your home aren't just getting blown back into your home.
These use chemical injection to help clean the air. It's an ion which has either a positive or negative charge. These filters are not that advanced and do not work as well. Basically, it cleanses the particle of the opposite charge and prevents those from going back out and sticking onto your possessions.
These produce the gas ozone which can help get rid of very rough particles using ion technology. However, it is not recommended for use as it is dangerous. The ozone filter can cause asthma to flare up and cause serious damage if you’re being exposed to it for a long period of time.
Most HEPA purifiers will usually use around 30-250 watts per hour. This depends on the size and how often you keep your air purifier on. If we’re looking in US$, you’d be paying around $39-300 depending on where you live and the amount of usage.
Most air purifiers will produce noise; this is usually unavoidable. You will be able to find quiet technology filters on the market; however, you will have to have them running at the lowest setting.
Most air purifiers offer a 3-year manufacturer's warranty which will cover any damages or errors on the part of the manufacturer. If you break the unit, it will not be covered in the warranty.
An air purifier can help filter out various types of bacteria, and particles that aren’t healthy for you to be breathing on a regular basis. Some of these include dander from pets, chemicals from products, fungi, dust mites, mold, viruses, etc. The air filter will suck the air into the purifier and filter or destroy the particles that are harmful to you.
You should get an air filter which can cover the entire room. If you aren't using a filter, then other ways are to air out the room by either leaving the door open or opening a window. This can help reduce the number of germs and bacteria that stay in the room.
Simply remove the unit from the box, and make sure the filters are in place. Then, plug the air purifier into a wall outlet. Let it work for the next few days and then check the filter inside; it should have a small buildup of dust and other particles.
If you’re in the market to buy one, then we highly suggest knowing what type of air purifier you’re going to want in your home. Some people can get away without having dual or triple filtration systems. However, others may need these systems. Be sure to do your research about purifiers and filters, and then you can go ahead and choose one based off of all the other extra factors.
Open up the machine and check if the filter tray has any particles or dust on it. Sometimes these things can’t be seen with the naked eye, but you can usually tell that the color has changed. Wipe down any parts that are dirty, or make sure to install new filters. Always let them air dry if you choose to opt for washing them yourself. Put the lid back on, and you should be good to go.
As you can see, it’s not hard to choose an air purifier, just a little confusing. You just need the right information. If we were to suggest the best buy air purifier, it would have to be the Oregon Scientific Air Purifier as it has a unique four-way filtration system and uses a technology which allows for a quiet running, which can be of benefit if you're trying to sleep. There are so many wonderful features, but you can refer back to the product's review if you need more information.
